HF1200 12 Foot 8 Blade HVLS Fan

The HF1200 is a 12 foot HVLS fan with eight Performance Engineered Blades. It moves 48,759 CFM at 44 RPM and puts a direct breeze across a circle 42 to 48 feet wide at half speed on a clear floor, which covers a mid size warehouse bay, a production floor or a gym.

The blades are twisted and tapered along their length. The tip of a blade travels much faster than the root, so the root is set at a deeper angle to do its share of the work. That lets a lighter fan move more air at a lower RPM on less horsepower, and it keeps the airflow even at the low speeds where these fans spend most of their time.

Where it goes

Measure the area where people work most of the day and center the fan over it. The blades hang at least 10 feet off the floor with 3 to 4 feet of clearance to the ceiling deck and 2 feet to anything at the sides, so plan on a ceiling of about 13 to 14 feet or more. Keep it clear of lights, sprinklers, piping, HVAC equipment, cranes and conduit. Multiple fans go at least 30 feet apart, center to center.

Motor and controls

It runs on a 0.5 HP totally enclosed, fan cooled gearmotor and takes 110 to 120 V single phase, 208 to 240 V single or three phase, or 460 to 480 V three phase service. Whatever comes in, the VFD sends three phase power to the motor. Each fan ships with a NEMA 1 wall mounted VFD with a safety disconnect, on and off toggle, speed dial and integrated sprinkler shut off. It weighs 124 lb, mounts to I-beam, Z-purlin or open joist, and takes 1, 2, 3 or 6 foot extensions. Sound under the fan at three quarter speed stays below 57 dBA.

Run it faster in summer, since a 3 to 5 mph breeze can drop the apparent temperature by up to 10°F. In winter, a speed setting of 5 to 15 percent brings ceiling heat back down to the floor without a draft. The HF1200 is built in Cleveland and carries a five year warranty on all parts.
