Price by fan type
Portable and high-velocity fans
Drum fans and high-velocity floor units run about $100 to $800 each.
Cheap, until you count how many a large floor needs. Then add the energy and the replacement cycle on a dozen motors and the math stops looking friendly.
Wall and exhaust fans
Mounted industrial fans and exhaust units land somewhere between a few hundred and low thousands, depending on size and what the venting requires.
HVLS overhead fans
A commercial HVLS fan is the bigger upfront number. Roughly $2,000 at smaller diameters, up past $10,000 for the largest 20 to 24 foot systems, before installation.
Facilities buy them anyway, for two reasons. Coverage and efficiency. One HVLS fan does the work of dozens of small units on a fraction of the electricity.
What drives the price
- Diameter. Bigger fans cover more floor and cost more, but often deliver better cost per square foot.
- Mounting and ceiling height. Tall ceilings, I-beams, or retrofit structural work add labor.
- Controls and add-ons. Variable-speed drives, tethers, and custom colors affect the total.
- Electrical work. Running power to the mount point is a real line item.
